Caldwell Successfully Completes Another lndustrial Tank Project

Caldwell completed construction of three flat bottom tanks with self-supporting dome roofs for a power plant project along the banks of the Susquehanna River in Pennsylvania in late May. One tank will be used to store demineralized water and is constructed of stainless steel. The other two tanks are for raw water and fuel storage and are constructed of carbon steel. The tanks are part of a conversion of an older coal-fired power plant to newer, clean burning natural gas.

The tank materials were fabricated and shop-primed in Newnan, GA and shipped to the site timely to support construction.

The project was completed safely, with no OSHA Recordable incidents, thus preserving our excellent safety record on industrial projects. Our scope of work was also completed on-time, ahead of the contract completion deadline. Our customer, UGI Development Company, is the owner of this and other power plants in the Northeast. The conversion is scheduled to be complete in the spring of 2011, at which time the power plant will begin operating with gas instead of coal. UGI's project manager and site manager are very complimentary of Caldwell and crew. ln their words, Caldwell required no maintenance or oversight, "We arrived on-time and got the job done in a professional manner."
