Safety
Caldwell is passionate about our pursuit for safety excellence. We are currently operating one of the industry's most extensive and successful safety and health programs. The Safety Department is currently accountable for 43 field crews operating in over 40 states and Canada, as well as two fabrication shops.
Our
Safety and Loss Control Program expresses our company's core value to provide a safe and healthful work environment for all of our employees, to control areas where potentially hazardous conditions exist and to reduce the frequency and severity of incidents when they occur. The Safety and Loss Control Manual contains our written environmental, health and safety programs, including:
- Hazard Communication Program
- Bloodborne Pathogen Exposure Control Program
- Fall Protection Program
- Excavation Program
- Lockout/Tagout Program
- Confined Space Program
- Respiratory Protection Program
- Derrick Program
- Drug and Alcohol Program
- Job Hazard Analyses for specific tasks.
Caldwell continues to strive towards our goal for safe, accident free and efficient worksites. This goal is being accomplished by participation from all employees in the safety process. To support this participation, Caldwell has an extensive and knowledgeable Safety Department that includes seven full-time dedicated safety professionals. Caldwell's Safety Department has the combined experience of two Certified Safety Professionals (CSP), three Bachelors of Science in Industrial Risk and Safety Management, one Master of Science in Loss Prevention and Safety, one Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering and numerous other safety certifications.
In 2007, Caldwell implemented a program that measures leading safety indicators. We are measuring the effectiveness of our safety program in four primary areas: Safe People, Safe Environment, Awareness Training, and Incident Rates. We are convinced this program will positively influence our safety culture not only at Caldwell but throughout our industry.
